The Children of Israel were called upon to remember…. “Remember how the LORD your God led you all the way in the desert these forty years to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands.” Deut.8:2
The year 2015 is gone; and as we walk in 2016… are we able to remember the key challenges encountered in 2015; learn from the oversights and failures so as to be better stewards of God? Remembering….It is a blessing to remember, for then one is able to learn from the lessons; and be better equipped to face another day…a new year.
The Children of Israel had to go through the 40 years so as to be humbled while at the same time were undergoing a test. But how many of these Israelites were able to appreciate in the midst of their pain and challenges that God had allowed the situation to be for a reason…and thus be able to turn back to God for guidance and strength in their walk through the desert? God has great plans for his children, and HE needs to know if we will be able to keep his commands irrespective of the circumstances we find ourselves.
It is only when one has been able to ‘know’ that God is in charge of their lives that when a storm hits, their eyes will be quickly reverted back to God and remain focused on HIM. This safeguards one from falling into the enemy’s traps … grumbling, complaining or quitting. God in his word has cautioned us against grumbling…
It quietness’ me to be reminded that God allows a ‘desert’ in whatever form to happen in one’s life …so that what is truly in their heart will come forth. Also, it is impressed upon me that growth of a Christian happens when one takes a stand to fight …not by one’s strength; but the LORD’s Strength.
A new year comes with new bigger challenges; and this necessitates you and I to brace up in our stance by being strong, firm and steadfast in the LORD.
“The end of all things is near. Therefore, be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray.” 1 Peter 4:7
It’s always good to read to the end. I love the ending part
Prayer. As a matter of fact 2016 is a year of high quality dedicated prayers.
Thanks Sister Sarah Babalanda for such messages only received from His feet.
Hello my brother,
you nicely put it…the lessons are from his Feet; a doing of God. In the beginning when i had availed myself to write… i would go through the lessons at a later time and wonder and ask myself …where did that come from? Until, i was firmly reminded that i am only a vessel that he uses to pour his water through for the thirsty …myself included. May God smile upon you Henry and may he allow you to bask in his goodness. Have a blessed day. Your Sister Sara
