“John sees a great white throne and the One seated on it.  He conveys the awesome nature of God’s majestic, overwhelming presence by describing the reaction of the earth and sky – they flee from their Creator.  Our minds cannot comprehend the vast crowd that will stand before God’s throne, unable to escape.

Each man, woman and child who has drawn the breathe of life must face the sovereign, righteous Lord.  All “are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment” God will not excuse anyone, regardless of power or fame once possessed.  He will overlook no one no matter how insignificant while on earth, for John sees all “the dead, great and small”.

Regardless of the timing, everyone will face God and be judged according to their words and deeds.  Nothing on earth is more important than your response to the savior.  The last note in the scene of final judgment affirms that “anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire”.  It is wishful thinking to believe that God will save anyone apart from faith in His Son.

From Revelations 20:11-15 we learn that those whose names are not written in the Lamb’s book of life will die the second death and suffer the just punishment for their sin forever .  This sobering fact of Judgment should compel us to pray for and share the gospel with those who do not yet know the love of the Savior”.

Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and everDaniel 12:3
