“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches. He who overcomes will not be hurt at all by the second death.” Rev 2: 11.
In the olden days, it was the expectation for all women to labor with birth pain’s before a baby came forth. Today, you and I are living in times described as the beginning of birth pains… times recording wars, rumors of war, Nations rising up against nations, ravage of the land as a result of famine and earthquakes Mathew 24. At first, people wondered whether the world is coming to an end…this situation has been with us for a spell and our minds are being ‘reprogramed’ to read oh! Well! That is life.
Christians, based on the LORD’s teaching, we should become expectant of the LORD Jesus Christ’s second coming as he returns for his Church. This necessitates a Christian to be watchful and abide in Jesus Christ. As predicted, the persecution against Christians is coming forth like a vicious giant. In some communities, the message of Christ is being stifled in numerous ways depriving people the knowledge about God’s love for mankind. Meanwhile, in other communities where ISIS has taken root, Christians are being persecuted …being put to death and sold as sex slaves because of their commitment to Jesus Christ.
Whenever I read about the persecution against Christians, I ask self… If the bible was to be removed from circulation today… do I have the Word of God stored up in me…to enable me survive or stand as a Christian with or without access to a fellowship of believers?
Have you ever thought how Joseph taken as a young man from his family and homeland was able to remain true to his God? His Father, Jacob in his numerous talks with him taught Joseph about the true God; and a key lesson… Fear of God was instilled in Joseph as a young man. This lesson produced fruits in the life of Joseph …he did not only show his Respect for God as a slave in Potiphar’s house; but also as a ruler in the land of Egypt …even when reunited with his brothers. Joseph is one of the examples in the bible which clearly reflects Psalms 119:9 “How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your Word”.
It is the Word of God that will enable you and I to stand in these last days… days we were cautioned of that evil will increase and the love of most will grow cold (Mathew 24:12); thus the increase of permissiveness we witness today in our respective communities. The over indulgence of evilness within society is an indication that the enemy is working tireless to woe as many as he can… before his time runs out.
Christian remained focused. The LORD in his words says, “But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most Holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourself in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our LORD Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life”. Jude 1: 20-21
