When you go before God with a request and the answer is no or seems to be delayed… how often do you respond?  Do you like the ‘world’ hurl ‘stones of words’ to God when life is not to your expectation… calling God a liar?  Bewailing, how you have been a faithful Christian only to be disappointed in God for not moving your ‘mountains’? This week i was reminded that God has ears…he hears not only our prayers; but also gets to hear our grumblings and complaints which displeases him.  Also, we serve a God who has feelings which arise in response to either our faithfulness or lack of faith and trust in HIM as witnessed in (Numbers 11:1-2) when the Israelite’s complaints aroused the anger of God.

Is God man that I can raise a finger or my voice to the heavens and vent towards him?   God remains God irrespective of one’s current situation.  Daniel and his two friends understood this fact when they said to King Nebuchadnezzar that “…if we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from your Majesty’s hand.  But even if he does not, we want you to know , Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold that you have set up”  Daniel 3:16 – 17.    Daniel’s remark ‘But even if he does not’,  can only be made by a person who truly reverences God; whose relationship with God is not determined by the ‘landscape’ of one’s life.

Christian, I thought again …. we serve a God who does not have to first check with man’s plans; so as to implement HIS plans for mankind. God is God.   HE does marvelous works in our lives not because we are deserving; but because of the mercy of God.   Yet again, doesn’t the Word of God say, ‘To the faithful, he shows himself faithful (Psalms 18:25)?

May you and I be found to be faithful in our words and actions to the very end.
