Have you ever seen a warrior engaged in a middle of a fight walk away from a fight unscathed?
In a fight….a fight for survival, a warrior is found right in the middle of the battle wielding his sword and shield without giving an inch to the enemy… fighting on despite his fatigued state for it is a fight for life. Yes, the scars on his body tell the viciousness of the fight and the fury of his opponent.
As a Christian, we are at war with a ferocious vindictive enemy who is out to steal, kill and finally destroy man. In the Armor of God, we have an insight that the enemy’s target is a person’s heart and mind; with an intention of destroying souls ….it is a fight you and I cannot afford to lose.
Yes, in this fight…there will be pain and suffering; and because of the devil’s schemes ‘blood is or will be gushing from different wounds in our lives, but can we afford to indulge despair? Some have reasoned that if one waves a ‘white flag’ to the enemy by abandoning ones stand as a Christian….the enemy will let up. It is a mistake to make a pact with a devourer who is working overdrive to take as many suspecting and unsuspecting persons to share in his destination…Hell.
It is a relief to know that the enemy has limitations.
Debbie Woods in the article Satan’s Limits shares that “In some false systems of thought, God and Satan, good and evil, are seen as equal and opposite forces. This system was obviously created by Satan to inflate his own reputation! Even though Satan‘s power is greater than ours alone, we must never believe that his power is even a fraction of the infinite power of Almighty God. God created everything that is not Himself (Jn 1:3).
Satan was only a cherub (Ezk 28:14, 16), infinitely beneath God in every way. He was created by God (Ezk 28:15), and he will be destroyed by God. When God decides to destroy Satan, there will be NO contest, even for an instant (Rev 20:10). Satan does not have the same abilities as God—he is not omniscient, omnipresent, or omnipotent. He must work through other wicked spirits and their influence on man to achieve his will (Eph 6:12; 1 Tim 4:1).
God created Satan and will certainly bring an end to his influence. He only allows Satan to have freedom temporarily for His ultimately good purposes. Among those purposes is testing believers to prove their faithfulness and proving that a weak human being, when submitted to God, is superior to a more powerful creature.
Believe it …on a daily basis consciously or unconsciously we are fighting or cheering on one of the 2 sides! As you check your inmost being… on whose side are you on?”
“Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in Prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.” Revelation 2: 10
