Towards the end of the Book of Revelation, the angel warns, “……Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy.” Rev.22:10 -11.

Ultimately, people live out who they are inside… and a time is to come when the outcome of our lives will be settled and final.  God’s plan to restore the universe begins in individual lives now.  God promises, “if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come! When God forgives your sins for Jesus’s sake, His grace unfolds a new reality in your life.  The Holy Spirit gives new desires for holiness and new strength to obey.  Christians fight indwelling sin until they die or Jesus returns, but holiness becomes the enduring characteristic of their lives.”

When the prophet Daniel received visions of the end times, he was told to “seal up the vision, for it concerns the distant future”.  John received an opposite command: Do not seal up the words of the prophesy…because the time is near”.  The Lord’s return is near.  It is dangerous to assume you will be able to put off understanding the end time prophesy or repent at a later date.  The terrible consequence of sin recorded in the book of Revelation warns people to confront the Truth today.
