In Romans 2, Paul distinguishes between those who talk about the law and those who obey the Law. He said that a person who obeys the Law is one who persists in doing good, seek God’s glory, honours God through their life and it leads to an eternal life. However, when one is self-serving, rejects the truth and follows evil; we learn that such a person’s destination is God’s wrath and anger.
As each one of us prepares for that day when we stand before our Maker, Paul tells us that God will judge people’s secrets through Jesus Christ Romans 2:16. Man tends to pay attention to one’s outward behavior and presentation before fellow mankind; and yet God’s judgment is on one’s inward …a life that is hidden away from man; but not from God.
Why judge people’s secrets? The Lord Jesus Christ said, “a good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him” Mathew 12:35.
What are you storing up within you?
