Moses grew up as the foster brother of Ramses II the Prince of Egypt. As the adopted child of Pharaoh’s daughter (Exodus 2:1-10) he was given the best education, training and preparation that Egypt could offer (Acts 7:22).   At the time, he must have thought Egypt to be his destiny.

After 40 years as a Prince of Egypt he fled Egypt and lived as a shepherd for 40 years with his father in law, Jethro.  Every moment of our lives is known to God who allows situations in our lives for a reason; and in the case of Moses, he was undergoing training to become the deliverer of the Israelites from Egypt.

Can you imagine what could have gone through his mind when he approached the throne of Pharaoh …and it was Ramses II his once playmate, friend and brother that he had to demand for the release of the Israelites?  It couldn’t have been easy.   Yet, Moses stood firm through the nine plagues the Lord God brought upon the land of Egypt.  I believe that the unwavering strength of Moses came from his encounter with the Lord God in the burning bush.

In our journey as Christians, the road is not always smooth, there are bends, some very sharp and dangerous hills to climb, then downhill’s; and yet we have to face all these hazards if we are to fulfill our destinies in our lives.  Moses knew where God was sending him and he trembled before the Lord; but God strengthened him.  An encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ gives us strength to walk faithfully before God. Are you willing to trust the Lord God even when the journey becomes too rough ?

“ I keep my eyes always on the Lord.  With him at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.” (Psalms16:8)
