In one fellowship, one person commented that it is a very high standard set for a Christian to follow the path of the Lord Jesus Christ, for the Lord was and is the Son of God. When one noted that Christians in the Early Church walked before God faithfully…another excuse given was that these were people who were only assured of the day they were living due to extreme persecution; thus they lived in a sacrificial manner … ready to be called home any moment. How about Billy Graham?
When I heard that Billy Graham had been called Home…a lot of emotions went through me. This is a man who professed Christ at an early age of 16 years and walked faithfully and victorious with the Lord Jesus Christ to the 99 years the Lord granted him… in a manner that even those who do not know the Lord God noted him to be a man of God.
Billy Graham lived in the corrupted society that you and I are in today; however, he did not sway from the love of Jesus Christ even when fame and wealth came his way; also pain and loss. And from his testimony, we learn that he chose to live in Jesus Christ as Acts 17:28 says “For in him we live and move and have our being.”
As God’s children, the bible says “… we are heirs – heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ. If indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.” Romans 8:17 Regardless of the challenges life brings one’s way; I pray that we will chose to love the Lord Jesus Christ; and remain faithful to the very end.
